Visitors (non-registered guests)

Visitors are NOT allowed under any circumstances absent specific written consent from hotel management, for any period of time in the hotel grounds or suites for the safety and privacy of all guests. Guests will be asked to vacate the hotel if this condition is breached, without refund.  Also, a fee of $500 will be charged in the credit card provided. 

Child Policy

The suites are unsuitable for infants and children. All guests must be at least 18 years old.

Check In 

From 3pm to 5pm.  Different arrival arrangements are possible, when suite is available and if hotel is contacted prior to arrival during commercial hours (Adelaide, South Australia ACST) or email, at least 24h before arrival. Guests who fail to check in during our check in ours and fail to communicate need to check in after 5pm will be marked as "no-show".

Check out time

until 10am.  We do not offer late check out. Charges will apply when room is not vacant on time.

Pet Policy

Pets are NOT allowed in the property.  Daisy, our friendly dog, is always with us in the wine tasting room and loves having guests in the property.

Hotel California Road Cancellation Policy

Upon reservation, payment is required to guarantee your reservation. It is advised that all travellers have travel insurance. In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your trip, please advise us in writing as soon as possible.

Our policy refers to direct bookings only and does not apply to reservations made through third party channels (e.g. Expedia, etc.). For these, please refer to the cancellation policy for your reservation with them, at the time of your booking.

Direct Bookings Cancellation Policy

15 days or more prior to arrival date: no charge (100% refundable).

14 days to 8 days prior to arrival date: 50% of full stay

7 days or fewer prior to arrival: 100% of full stay (non-refundable).

All booking cancellation requests must be made via email to hotel@inkwellwines.com. Days prior to booking means written requests received within business hours (up to 5pm ACT). Cancellation requests received after 5pm (local hotel time) will be considered to have been received on the following day.

If you do not receive a written reply from us within 24h, it means we did not receive your email. In this case, please follow up your request immediately to ensure your it is being processed on the correct date. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure the email was received.

Date change requests within the cancellation period are not possible and will be treated as a “cancellation request” and penalty fees apply.

COVID-19 Cancellation Policy (NEW - updated on July 14, 2021)

While our cancellation policy remains in COVID-19 situations, we try to minimise its possible negative effects on you. Our goal is to have paying guests who enjoy their visit.

This requires your active participation in this process.

After you cancel in writing by email to us (as above) and receive confirmation of same from us, we will re-advertise your room. If we then re-book the same room, we will refund you (less any third-party commission paid, if any) any monies paid to us by you.

The more notice period we have from you, the greater the chances are that we will re-book the room and refund you. Hoping that the restrictions will change is almost never productive for either of us.

These conditions do no apply to vouchers. Vouchers are not refundable.

Breakfast, still water and sparkling water and room snacks

We provide a continental breakfast in your room for you to make at your convenience. Water and snacks in the mini-bar are include in the price.   

Wine in the room and other charges

A selection of wine bottles from Inkwell is available in the room.  Open bottles will be charged in the credit card used at the time of your reservation.  To use another credit card, please contact Hotel Manager, prior departure. 

Totals listed here are estimated based on current taxes and exchange rates (if applicable) and do not include additional fees/charges that may be incurred during your stay.

Digital Key (keyless registration)

Digital Key through a smartphone app can be provided to guests arriving after hours.  Upon request, or when arriving after-hours, confirmed guests will receive an email after with instructions on how register, download the app gain access to the Hotel California Road using “SALTO KS” access keyless. A smartphone with a valid number will be requested to set up this system.  All guests will receive a physical fob as replacement for the digital key. The key fob must be returned to the hotel at departure.  Unreturned fobs will be charged in the provided credit card by the time of reservation ($75 each).

Payment Policy

To secure your booking a valid credit card is required at the time of booking. The balance of payment is required at check in with sundry items due on departure. You will be held responsible for any damage caused intentionally to any of the facilities of the property.  Name on the card and reservation must match. When using commercial credit cards, further information might be required.  

Taxes

All taxes and local charges are included in room price.

There is a credit card required for this reservation.

We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error.

Non-smoking Policy (100% smoke free tasting rooms and hotel)

For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor which is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and that is difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture we do not permit smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes) in our facility. 

Guests are encouraged to notify staff immediately if they smell cigarette, or other objectionable odours in their rooms.   This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where they smoke and how it affects others.  A Designated Smoking Area is provided outside and away from the building. 

Flower and Rose Petals

Flower petals are not allowed in the room (on bed or carpet) or in the bathtub. They stain carpet, linen and towels and can cause blockages in bath tub.  Fines apply ($300) and when room cannot be cleaned or used by next guest, guest compensation, loss of revenue, etc.

Candle, Incense, Essential Oils and others:

Candle, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited in the suites.  These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refunds.  Please see “100% Non-Smoking” policy.  We ask that guests refrain from use of patchouli oil and other strong-smelling plant-based or synthetic items or products that cause the room to be taken out of service due to objectionable odor.  We reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee ($500), cooking fee, cleaning fee,  guest compensation, loss of revenue, etc.
