The 2020 Bush Doctor is grown at Inkwell from a bush vine vineyard. Planted in 2011 and hand tended by Irina, “Irina’s Block” is planted on a one acre shelf of solid limestone intermingled with ironstone barely covered with soil. This unique configuration yields ripeness at surprisingly lower sugars than our acclaimed Primitivo grown on a wire trellis.

Picked the same day as our 2020 Infidels Primitivo, the Bush Doctor is an utterly distinct expression of the variety with fresh acidity and plush mouthfeel more akin to a ripe style of Pinot Noir. With its modest 13% alcohol level, it is perfect for pairing with a wide range of foods, from roast duck to spicy Italian. As the first release of this wine, it portends even better things to come.
